For the last couple of years, I have been collect magazine clips, design postcards and other tidbits which I tack up on the wall behind my desk. It is a growing, constantly changing work in progress, but sometimes tends to look more like a teenager’s bedroom wall than an office.
I love these office spaces as they show ways to collect and display inspiration while still looking polished.
During my cyber Monday web crawling, I stumbled across Rich Neeley Designs via Etsy. The Neeleys (husband and wife team) selectively “rescue” discarded books and bring them back to life as iPhone 4 and iPad charging stations. They are perfect to stick on a office shelf, add some flair to a bedside table or as the ultimate Christmas gift for the mac head in your life. Price ranges from $47-$58 plus $10.50 shipping.
We recently purchased the ‘letterpress’ rug from CB2 to warm and brighten up our loft space. It adds colour and some quirkiness without taking over the entire vibe of our minimalist living room design.
While at CB2, I couldn’t help but want almost everything there. Look at some of the great items that would go perfect with our new rug:
I have been looking for some additional decor elements for our loft. We have very minimalistic style, and hence hate clutter and unnecessary objects. Our current furniture is perfect for the space, but we feel that a more ‘homely’ element is missing. A couple of items that could be added: a rug, a floor lamp, artwork, bed frame… So we are on the hunt for some good finds!
I have always been a huge fan of West Elm, and after stopping by their store last week during our mission here are some of my favourite finds:
Iznik Dhurrie Rug ($399): The orange contrasts perfectly with our charcoal couch and concrete/metal loft walls, but the texture was too ‘jute’ feeling. I do however really like the simplicity and richness of the design and color combo.
Sketched Squares Rug ($399): We were almost sold on this rug but they didn’t have it in stock. The colors are a perfect combination of our couch and EQ3 chaise.
Parsons Mirror Console ($499): absolutely in love with this piece. My mother recently redecorated her bedroom and bought mirrored wardrobe pieces which are beautiful. They add a lot of light and definitely open up any room. Just need to find the perfect place for this beauty.
Jason Polan Glass Decoupage Trays ($8 each): cute trays for bedroom/bathroom.
West Elm is on the best stores for mix and match bed frames. Their upholstered collection is really customizable and easy to order online or in store. We are leaning towards the ‘Diamond Tufted Headboard’ in otter velvet ($449). Still debating whether or not to get the full wood frame or to just use our existing metal frame:
