Unleashed at the CES 2012 sneak peak event Unveiled”, Qooq is the first ‘made in France’ tablet. Designed specifically for the kitchen, the tablet displays recipes, technique videos and suggested wine pairings through a subscription based service. It is designed to prevent kitchen mishaps with it’s splash proof exterior and ability to withstand heat up to 60C (140F). Cost is 349€ and includes 500 recipes and free access to all content for one month.
Not only is it functional but has a really sleek design available in red, off white and black. There is a built in stand and metal knob corners for lifting the tablet off the surface to protect from spilled liquids.
There is a definite need for this product in my kitchen. Whether it’s fumbling with one clean finger over my Macbook Air or dripping liquids all over my iPad, I need a device that can be dedicated to kitchen use without worry. Although currently only available in France, Qooq is planning to release an English version in September.
